While it's not fun to hear, the reason people speak up about what you eat is because they care. And the reality is, the kind of surgery you had has some serious reprocussions if you don't follow your food plan to a *T*.

It also doesn't make a whole lot of sense for many people to watch people who go through all the pain of having this kind of surgery go back and rationalize what they eat. "I only ate a very small amount of ice cream." "It was only a little bit of soda pop"

But you are right, it's not for me, or anyone else to be your food police, or to monitor what you place in your mouth, it's your life and your business. People who just love you stand by the sidelines and feel helpless sometimes.

I know my family does. Being a "foodie" myself, I know it kills my family to notice a gain. To know I am not handling food. And to realize that the only difference between myself and the alcoholic is that I use food to cope, not booze. If I drank, I'd be at the bottom of a bottle most of the time.

So when someone makes those remarks, just smile and say, "Thanks for caring." And leave it at that. Only you and your doctor know's what's best for you.

This is a message for Trinity Sixty-Three. Why are you being so critical to Amy? I don't appreciate it, and I doubt that she does either. Lighten up!

Susan - I am not being critical of Amy. I am just speaking the truth. I left my email address, and web site, maybe you should as well?
