First of all..."happy New Years!" Ours was a quiet one...AND I didn't get drunk as some have shared in this post. (ha!!!) Nope, I don't mind that you shared this at all....in fact I have several copies of that story to give to people (if they are so inclined to receive it). Some would ask...why would that woman marry 'that' man when he 'looks' the way he does. I think that in this life we could be given something we don't ask for at any time. It could be cancer, ALS (Lou Gerigs disease), MS, a car accident that would leave us in a wheel chair~~it could be anything. That young woman wasn't looking at the 'outside' of her man but at the inside and who he really is. He must have had integrity, strong faith and much more that wasn't shared in the story. I'd vote for 'those' qualities over a man who looks whole on the outside but is a total jerk, lacking integrity and so forth. Besides, looks will fade eventually~~bodies will lose their strength and youthfulness but I would vote to be married to "my" man for the long haul with love and faith being a strong part of who he is. As for the "thank you" notes...Amy I'm glad that you're taking the time to extend your thoughts to people who have taken the time (& money) to give something to you. It shows you care! People so appreciate that in a person~~"that's" integrity as well!! I'm proud of who you are becoming! Blessings!!!

Thank you "Mom" for letting us share. I feel the same way. I met my hubby in 1995 and he lost his legs in 1999 after several surgeries. He is not my first husband. I wouldn't trade him for a man with legs for anything. His humor, compassion and generosity are worth more than anything to me. Happy new year to all of you!!

I was just listening to the radio..and a man by the name of Rick Warren was talking about 2005 and what we may be expecting of it. He says we are made (by God)for "significance" and NOT for "success". That's why so many are so un-happy when they do reach an element of success~~it hasn't fulfilled them. I highly recommend reading Rick Warren's book called "The Purpose Driven Life". It's an "easy read" and you can do a chapter a day if you want.

I wasn't finished above...and somehow must have hit the wrong button on my keyboard. I also want to share that God looks at our hearts and "not" at what we look at. When it's all said and done we will be asked "what did you do with your life?" We will not be asked "what kind of house did you live in, what kind of car did you drive, how much money did you make, how many friends (& who were they?) did you have?" Just something for you all to ponder as we begin this new year. It's what's in your hearts that matter and who you really are is what's in your heart. It's also called "character" (integrity, if you will).
