You sound hormonal...and you're right it also could be the letdown after a wonderful vacation and back to work and a schedule. This time of year too is when alot of people get down. It's cold, snowy (in some parts of the country), the days are shorter...but getting longer now. You've had a lot of changes in your life in the past year and your body needs time to catch up. I'm thinking once you get going with your school~~did you not say you're starting soon? You won't have time to feel down and sorry for yourself. Hang in there toots, we're pulling for you. You have a great husband, a job, a new body that's getting newer every day, a cute new haircut (you'll get the hang of it1), good friends by the sounds of it, a supportive family (by the sounds of it too), and you know it could be a heck of alot worse. You could live in S.E. Asia or Somalia. We are here for you and will be your online support.

My dear, nobody can ever make their hair do what your hairdresser made it look like in the salon. It just never happens- definitely don't take it as a personal failing of yours. It's just not possible to get the same effect doing your own hair (especially in the back) as when someone is doing it for you. I have straight fine short hair and I tell the stylist, whatever funky stuff you want to do at the end to make it all poofy and whatnot, just make sure it looks good flat, because no matter how much effort I put in (and I let them know that I generally don't have the patience for fiddling with my hair at all) it would look flat in two hours anyway. But anyway, I'm sure it will be fine as soon as you get used to the new style and also after it grows for a few days. New haircuts always look like ass for the first week anyway ;)
