I know it's not the same as watching both, but you can read recaps of either of those shows at http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com and the recaps are really funny!

Do you have an old tv & vcr you can set up just for one of those shows? Rabbit ears are all you need, providing your local signal is good, and you are more interested in the program than in perfect reception. :)

Broadcast television is very competitive. They don't want you to watch both shows--each network wants you to watch their show. YOU are the product in the TV industry. You, as a potential purchaser who is in front of your set and can see the commercials, are what they promise to deliver to their paying customers...the advertisers. The TV shows are just elaborate bait to get you to watch the commercials.

What happened to waiting until after Thanksgiving to put out the Christmas stuff? I'm just barely starting to acknowledge that it's Autumn... I'm not ready to leap into Winter. Jeez. Lap is so right on about Television Without Pity. It rocks! And, Happy Anniversay, I think - I'm behind in my diary reads - but it seems that's what you're celebrating. No matter what you're celebrating at the moment, best wishes!
