I sympathize with you about your inlaws. My inlaws drive me crazy, too...especially my sister-in-law. Mine, though, is the "princess" who can "do no wrong" and my DH is the bad seed of the family. I get so tired of them all. As for your mom, I can relate to that, myself. My mom calls me everytime reader's digest or prevention magazine has an article about weightloss. It is just that she loves you. She doesn't want to see you pay thousands of dollars on surgery if you can do it another way. I worked for a bariatric hospital, and there are always going to be stories for either case of yes or no. Back to your SIL...stick to your guns. You will have to stand up for yourself sometime, or you will always be intimidated by her. The one time you stand up for yourself...and realize that she can't scare you anymore if you don't let her, then your relationship with her will probably change for the better...she might gain a better respect for you. If you stand up for yourself in a respectful way, she might quit trying to intimidate you. I had to put Matt's sister in her place. Our relationship is better (though I still sometimes can't stand her).

My family knows of my public journal, but they haven't read it. So I'm taking a small chance, I suppose. But really it's not much of one. They could fire me, I guess, but that's not the end of the world for me. And if they find the entry and want to contest my account, I'll let them post their side of the story in my journal. Or they can start their own. Sorry about your Monday...
