Do you think you could come and take my anatomy and physiology test??? Geesh! You should become a nurse after all of this information. I was reading in your little description of the carnitine deficiency (I have never heard of it but it is not an area I have dealt with) and it mentioned that it is a chemical that helps remove toxins from the cells. That probably explains the high concentration of Carbon monoxide. Poor guy. I can sympathize with his MRI. Those things are creepy! It is like being in a coffin if you don't keep your eyes shut. I have never had the open MRI, just the one in the tube. I just kept praying that there wouldn't be a fire. I also had to imagine myself standing in an open field with the wind blowing.

Do you guys have an open MRI in your area? My partner had a number of them last year, and she found the open ones to be so much more comfortable and quiet than the closed one. It took some checking, and a bit of travel for us, but we found it so worth it. Good luck to you both!
