united way is such a good cause that you will have a great response. Don't worry. Isn't it weird to get unexpected news from your family- I always wonder "where the hell was I?"

yeah - - I've done that whole United Way *begging* thing before... Not fun - especially in our hometown. The perception here was, "why are you 'Big Corp' (read: deep pockets) asking me, "joe-ma/pa-main-street-shop" for a handout? They struggled to figure out why "we" couldn't buy or own stuff.... Have fun w/ that!... re: the house - sorry, we weren't trying to keep you in the dark. We've been looking in to getting a single family home (tired of the duplex/being a landlord) for awhile now, but hadn't found the right opportunity - and when we did, it needed to move fast... We just get "all of our ducks in a row" before we "let the cat out of the bag"... How's that for mixing/matching figures of speech?!

I like it! I may have to incorporate it into my own vernacular. By the way Huff...I wasn't saying I felt you were being stealthy or anything...it just hit me so hard...something as big as that happening so fast...it was a shocker, that's all. I am happy for y'guys!
